In May 2017, the City of Québec asked Groupe Conseil CHG to oversee an extensive asphalting project. The mayor’s goal was to attack the potholes in Québec City’s streets. Work took place in a number of streets in several boroughs of Québec City.
The commission included road surface maintenance, repair and replacement work in a number of streets, using methods such as surfacing and installation of a surface course or correction course, grinding and surfacing, planned road maintenance work, crack treatment and marking. Grinding of asphalt containing asbestos was also carried out in several streets. Lot 1 was particularly complex because it included Québec City’s main arteries (Couronne, Laurier, Abraham, Wilfrid-Hamel, Henri-Bourassa, Ormière and several others).
